  • GHS Program Heartland & Unity: A Smelly Saga of Sewers & Scrapheaps

    Grayslake Historical Society member and retired librarian Jane Trump and Eve Lee will delve into the Heartland project, a proposed annexation to the Village of Grayslake which included 2,300 acres.  Although it never came to fruition, Heartland still impacts the Village today. Refreshments served.

    Author David Dixon will discuss his book, The Lost Gettysburg Address, which shares the story of Kentucky native Charles Anderson, who delivered the closing oration following Lincoln’s address.  Learn the true tale of a man who sacrificed nearly everything to save the Union.

    Stop in for great stories and guaranteed laughs in the name of the beloved entertainer Jack Benny.  Waukegan History Museum Supervisor Ty Rohrer will share the life and legacy of this famous Waukegan native.

  • Cemetery Walk

    Grayslake Cemetery Lake Street, Grayslake, Illinois

    Living History Tour of the Grayslake Cemetery: The theme of the twentieth annual Grayslake Cemetery Walk is "Remembering the Past."  Themes of previous walks will be recalled.  Costumed interpreters will tell about Grayslake events which happened during their lifetime. The recently installed Grayslake Cemetery plaque will be unveiled.  Donations appreciated.  Performances at 1:30 and 2:30

    The Grayslake Historical Society will host author and Warren Township alumnus Jim Lodesky, who will share stories about Warren Township High School which celebrated its 100th birthday this year.  The book will be available for purchase after the program. Refreshments served.
