Several bagpipers and drummers from the Chicago Highlanders Pipe Band will perform at Centennial Park. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets for a night to remember. (Centennial Park is located at the corner of Center and Whitney Streets. Rain Location: Village Hall, 10 South Seymour Avenue).
Visit the museum as we welcome back the Cinque Venti Wind Quintet for a summer concert. The Quintet will feature musical selections from historical to modern. A reception will follow.
Enjoy nine innings of 19th century baseball as the Grayslake Athletics take on the McHenry County Independents at the north end of Grayslake’s Central Park. Learn the wildly different rules and cheer and jeer in fine, Victorian fashion. This event is the kickoff for the 4th Annual Color Aloft Balloon Festival. Huzzah!
As you enjoy the Oasis’ annual vintage car show, don’t forget to stop by the Grayslake Heritage Center & Museum for the community’s “little car show.” We will have a special display of model cars and trucks, many of them collectible. Watch for Wilbur, the Grayslake Historical Society’s 1954 fire engine downtown.
