“A Golden Milestone: 50 Years, 50 Treasures:” The Grayslake Historical Society proudly celebrates 50 years of preserving local history. This special exhibit highlights the stories and artifacts collected over five decades. The selected treasures will be on display through mid- November in the upper gallery.
“A Dose of Grayslake History:”
The Grayslake Historical Society and Heritage Center and Museum are proud to present this exhibit. Visitors can learn about medical devices and equipment, as well as personnel who served Grayslake. Doctors including Gaspar Goshgarian and Dulce Milanes are featured, along with nurses Winnie Mandel, Charlene Wray Rockenbach, and Jane Conradi. Drug stores covered include those of Florence Druce, Phil “Doc” Hildebrandt, Cecil Hook and Delbert Hook. The impact of Flu, TB, Polio, and COVID are recognized. This exhibit is open in the lower gallery until June 2026.

Wednesday, March 11th: 7:00pm: Society Program: “50 Years, 50 Treasures:” Hear the stories of selected artifacts from the recently opened exhibit and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Grayslake Historical Society. This will be accompanied by exhibit tours and anniversary cake. Heritage Center Community Room. Free. Light refreshments provided.
Wednesday, April 8th: 7:00pm: Society Program: “The Kick Family:” Randy Kick will tell of lively times growing up with a family of 19 kids and share memories of his days at St. Gilbert and Grayslake High School. Historical Society Annual Meeting/Board Election. Heritage Center Community Room. Free. Light refreshments provided.
Wednesday, May 13th: 7:00pm: Society Program: Jane Trump will take a nostalgic look back at notable barbershops and hair salons in Grayslake’s past. Heritage Center Community Room. Free. Light refreshments provided.
