Grayslake Historical Society Program
March 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
James Obenauf, a son of Grayslake, a young officer in the new United States Air Force, had a particularly bad day airborne over Texas on April 29th in 1958. What happened to him, how he responded, and what happened in the days that followed is the story to be presented by Grayslake Historical Society board member Jim Rockwell. The Obenauf story was told in a 1959 TV documentary and is the topic of the book Twenty Seconds to Live.
